Seeds of Hope
Arab youth who come from hard socio-economic backgrounds find the Empowerment Center for Arab Youth at-risk in House of Grace a nurturing environment to develop with the help of our professional and dedicated counselors.
Manar (alias), a 17 year old girl, joined House of Grace after our Girls' group facilitator, Enas, heard about her situation from friends at the local Church and asked her to join in the centers activities "After my father was murdered I got really depressed and spent most of my time in my room" says Manar; "I had to cope with a new reality... "
Mrs. Enas Attalah spoke to Manar several times before she finally convinced her to join House of Grace's Youth Empowerment Group; "it was difficult, she was very distant and isolated," says Enas, "she expressed her pain by being verbally abusive and held a negative attitude towards others." After her father's murder Manar experienced verbal and physical abuse from her uncles which lead her to leave school and even try to run away from home. Luckily, after joining the Girls' groups at House of Grace, Enas and our professional social worker Tamara worked closely with Manar, her mother and other family members and literally saved her life, and opened the door for a better future.

House of Grace takes special pride in all our young leaders who have made such a remarkable change in their own lives and the lives they touch each day while volunteering and giving back to the community. We hope that we will be able to continue our mission empowering young future leaders so they may spread seeds of hope and charity back in the community.
